Established in 1851 as Ft. Mason a by the US Army, Mason has tons of history which you can explore through the three museums and historic Seaquist House. If you prefer nature, explore the Eckert James River Bat Cave or drive one of several spring wildflower loops. And obviously there's the Mason Town Square - voted one of the top 5 most beautiful Texas town squares  by Texas Monthly -  you'll find wonderful restaurants, charming shops, wine bars and art galleries. In the evening catch a movie or concert at the Odeon Theater.

Llano offers two shopping areas to explore, both north of the river and the beautiful town square with boutiques, restaurants, bakeries & antique shops. If your taste buds lead you, check out the world famous BBQ at Cooper's on Highway 29.

The massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas has drawn people for thousands of years. But there’s more at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area than just the dome. The scenery, rock formations and legends are magical, too!
